Getting To the Knickerbocker from the Airports  

Attendees have multiple options for getting to the Magnificent Mile from both airports.

1)You can rent a car and pay for parking.  (Very expensive)

2) You can take a taxi.  ($30-50 depending on the airport or traffic)

3)You can take a shuttle bus for either airport.  (Round trip - $37 from O’Hare, $28 from Midway.)

4) For the adventurers and/or poorest you can take a subway/train ($1.50, you MUST have correct change.)  Its very do-able but requires a train change from either airport and escalators may not be running.  Figure on a 45 minutes to an hour trip.  Both airports have good signs to the train.

Midway Take the Orange line (the only one at the airport).  Transfer to the Red line at Roosevelt Station take the train going to Howard.  You will have to carry your luggage down flights of stairs to the Red line.  Exit the Red line at the Chicago Station.  Walk West toward the John Hancock Building (3 blocks) turn left on Michigan Avenue than walk to Walton (5 blocks, but they are short).  Turn right walk ½ block. 

O’Hare Take the Blue line (the only one at the airport).  Transfer to the Red line at Washington Station take the train going to Howard.  You will have to carry your luggage up a flight to the Red line.  Note well: the blue line crosses Chicago Ave , but it is about a 2-mile walk; stay on the train to the Washington Station.  After you exit the Washington, walk West toward the John Hancock Building (3 blocks) turn left on Michigan Avenue than walk to Walton (5 blocks, but they are short).  Turn right walk ½ block.
