Categories of Membership in the AAOMR
 
The AAOMR consists of oral and maxillofacial and medical radiologists, dental practitioners, radiation physicists, allied dental personnel, dental technologists, and corporations and businesses worldwide.
 
Membership is available to individuals, corporations and businesses worldwide who have an interest in oral and maxillofacial radiology and support the mission and goals of the Academy. There are two categories of membership; Individual and Corporate.
 
 
Individual Membership
 

There are various individual membership offered, depending on the level of involvement in OMFR.

1) Active (click here for application) -  Active Membership in the AAOMR is open to dental or medical practitioners worldwide whose primary professional activity in practice, education or research is oral and maxillofacial radiology (OMFR). Those who have attended a formal university-based or university-related advanced education program in oral and maxillofacial radiology that meets the eligibility requirement for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR) or an equivalent foreign board are eligible. Such a program must be equivalent to at least two academic years of full-time study and training beyond the predoctoral curriculum. Individuals who are able to demonstrate appreciable achievement by presenting evidence of education, training, research, experience, etc. in oral and maxillofacial radiology will also be considered. 
 
A complete application consists of the following materials:
  • The Official AAOMR Membership Online Application
  • Upload or submit a copy of the candidate's D.D.S., D.M.D or equivalent dental degree.
  • Upload or submit a copy of the candidate's most current curriculum vita and bibliography.
  • Upload or submit a copy of the Letters of sponsorship by two Active members and,
  • Application fee of $25.00
  • Payment of the first year's dues.

 

2) Affiliate (Click here for application)   Affiliate Membership in the AAOMR is open to dental or non-dental professionals worldwide who have an interest in oral and maxillofacial radiology and who support the mission and goals of the Academy.
 
A complete application consists of the following materials:
  • The Official AAOMR Membership Online Application
  • Application fee of $25.00
  • Payment of the first year's dues

3) Associate (Click here for application)  -  Associate Membership in the AAOMR is open to non-dental professionals worldwide whose primary interest is in practice, education or research in oral and maxillofacial radiology and who support the mission and goals of the Academy. A complete application consists of the following materials:

  • The Official AAOMR Membership Online Application
  • Upload or submit a documents demonstrating appreciable activity in oral and maxillofacial radiology (e.g. published articles)
  • Upload of two letters of reference from an Active or Associate member.
  • Upload or submit a copy of the candidate's most current curriculum vita.
  • Application fee of $25.00
  • Payment of the first year's dues

4) Student (click here for application)   -  Student Membership in the AAOMR is open to any student worldwide who is enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis in any allied dental, pre-doctoral or postdoctoral program and who support the mission and goals of the Academy. A complete application consists of the following materials:

  • · Upload or submit a statement from the program director stating bonafide student status
  • · Upload or submit a copy of the candidate'smost current curriculum vitae.
  • · Application fee of $25.00
5) Honorary Honorary membership may be awarded to any non-member who has made exceptional contributions to the advancement of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and has been recommended to the Executive Council by both the Membership and Recruitment Committee and the Nominating Committee. Upon receiving such a recommendation, the Executive Council will make the final determination as to whether or not to bestow this membership on the candidate. Honorary members enjoy the same privileges as Affiliate members except the right to receive the Academy-sponsored journal. They may subscribe to the Academy journal at its group rate.
 
 

Corporate Membership

There are 5 levels of Corporate membership varying on the number of included affiliate memberships. Please click on the red title of your desired membership category to apply.

  1. Participatory – includes Affiliate membership for two (2) designated employees
  2. Supporting - includes Affiliate membership for up to (4) designated employees
  3. Sustaining - includes Affiliate membership for up to eight (8) designated employees
  4. Silver - includes Affiliate membership for up to eight (8) designated employees, exhibit registration for premium space at annual congress, 5 copies of the print version of "Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontology” journal each month, recognition on AAOMR home page, and designation of an event at AAOMR Annual Session as being sponsored by your organization. Annual dues = $15,000
  5. Gold – Includes all of the premium conditions listed under "Silver” plus 100 non-corporate affiliate current year annual memberships in AAOMR that can be gifted to your customers. Your organization would be listed
    on the AAOMR Homepage. Annual dues = $25,000.

For all other levels of corporate membership, a complete application consists of the following materials:

  • Submit the names of the employee(s) who will receive Affiliate Membership.
  • Application fee of $25.00
  • Payment of the first year's dues
