Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is taught as a separate subject in most dental schools in North America even though the division may be part of another larger department. Here is a list of the common departments that have Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology as a division under them:

Since Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is an ADA recognized dental specialty, although the curricular guidelines for the post graduate program are clearly set, the curricular guidelines for the predoctoral program are not uniform. AAOMR will try and formulate common curricular guidelines for predoctoral program that can be easily adapted by any School or program tailored to their needs.
