One of the goals of the Research and Technology Committee is to identify areas in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (OMFR) where more research is needed and to promote more scientific activity that focus on filling the current gaps in OMFR knowledge.
Among the awards offered by the AAOMR, the following encourage or recognize excellent quality research:
For new research projects:
1) Albert G. Richards Award ($1,000 + certificate)
Purpose: To assist graduate students in conducting research relevant to OMFR.
For completed research projects:
1) Charles R. Morris Award ($1,000 + certificate + other benefits)
Purpose: To encourage new investigators to participate in OMFR research and encourage a career in oral and maxillofacial radiology.
2) Dentsply Rinn Research Award ($1,000 + certificate)
Purpose: To recognize the best poster on a scientific OMFR topic.
3) Williams H. Rollins Award ($1,500 + certificate)
Purpose: To recognize a graduate student or faculty member with an outstanding body of research relevant to OMFR.
